Technical Product Manager

Business Unit Tank Gauging (RTG) is looking for a Technical Product Manager with responsibility for hardware and software products in the Tank Gauging system as our current Technical Product Manager is taking on new challenges.

As Technical Product Manager you are the technical expert for your products and provide sales and after sales support to the RTG organization. You are also responsible to maintain and develop the product functionality and offering based on future industry needs and business opportunities. The position includes following the product and its’ quality developments and to be in charge of maintenance and extension projects. 

The Technical Product Manager is a key role and will be responsible for securing the long-term competitiveness and customer value of the product portfolio, profitability of the product lines and to get the products and their future options successfully to the Tank Gauging standard offering.

As a Technical Product Manager you will have extensive contact with engineering and development, quality department, procurement  as well as sales representatives.  The job will also include visiting customers and other Emerson sites.

Specific job responsibilities include:
- To keep the present products updated according to market needs
- Maintain and develop (specify) DD’s, plug-in softwares for a number of different platforms
- Secure quality and usability of the software products including product interoperability
- Together with the engineering and sales departments identify technical possibilities and opportunities.
- Responsibility for tracking customer satisfaction, product performance, field problems or other shortcomings of the products.
- Support the sales organizations with product questions and clarifications.

Success in this role requires a customer focused team player with a solid technical background interested in system solutions. You have at least a bachelor’s degree, preferably a master’s degree in engineering combined with a strong technical interest. You are structured and have excellent analytical and technical skills combined with a high drive for results. Interest in and understanding of human-machine interfaces (HMI) and communication protocols is a strong merit. Our business environment is highly international why you have good interpersonal skills and are fluent in English and Swedish, both written and spoken. The position will be located in Gothenburg. Driving license class B is required.
