THE POSITION – Technical- & Quality Assurance Manager, Wooden Furniture

The Technical Manager takes the overall responsibility of the technical solutions and quality of all products supplied by the company. The role includes a seat in the operational management group in the company.

The company sets high standards in its work with technical solutions and quality assurance systems. Well managed and the offering of uniform product quality is considered one of the absolute main differentiation parameters in the industry. The company’s future success depends hugely on its ability to ensure fulfillment of customers’ expectations and needs. The technical manager takes a central role in this.

 SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Assurance Systems:
Improve and maintain quality assurance systems
Ensure well-functioning QA systems in collaboration with particularly R&D department
Implement a culture of constant improvement approach in the department
Analyze performance by using the company’s business intelligence tools
Maintain corrective action system and secure thorough follow-up

Technical solutions:
Ensure proper technical solutions in collaboration with R&D in the development process
Secure sufficient documentation and agreements for every product with every supplier
Take leading role in ensuring proper data management in the company’s Product Information Management system

Quality Inspection & Control:
Ensure sufficient control at factories prior to shipment through both own personnel as well as 3rd party agents
Plan and carry through inspections of all arrivals at the company’s warehouses
Random arrival inspections upon arrivals directly from factory to customer
Work closely with manufacturing partners to prevent incoherencies and implement a deep understanding of the company’s expectations

Management/Leadership and collaboration:
Hands-on involvement in the daily operation
Closest internal collaboration partners are R&D- and Logistics departments
Manage a team of a total of 4 people in Sweden plus at least 5 technicians in Asia and Italy plus 3rd party manufacturing agents
Troubleshooting directly with customers and their QA divisions
Further streamline the Technical working process and internal documents control
Evaluate and control annual budget for R&D

 SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 5 years’ experience from a similar role within the furniture industry
Ideally a technical education complemented with an academic degree
A strong personality and solutions oriented
Do not take criticism personally, but instead focuses on solutions
Strong communication skills both towards customers and manufacturing partners
Very good English skills in both writing and orally 
Comfortable in working closely with manufacturing partners in both Asia and Europe
Strong knowledge of production process of Furniture (Wood)
Strong leadership skills
Can understand the company business model and add value to the business
