Technical salesperson for the marine industry´s foremost waterjet propulsion supplier

For more than thirty five years, Marine Jet Power (MJP) has designed and built the finest waterjet propulsion systems in the world. As a full-service propulsion solutions provider, MJP provides world-class customer support from initial design and build to delivery and custom aftermarket solutions. The company´s diverse product line is well suited for a multitude of applications ranging from Navy/Coast Guard, landing crafts and work boats to high-speed vessels and luxury yachts. The MJP product range encompasses from 10-200 meter vessels and from 350-24000 kW. MJP´s duplex stainless steel, mixed-flow waterjets, the CSU, DRB and X-Series lines, are industry leading across various segments, while the aluminum, axial-flow UltraJet range is well suited for smaller applications. New waterjets and advanced control systems are under development which will further advance the MJP position in the market.

Are you ready to take sales to the next level and do something completely new in an exciting industry?

MJP is now looking for a technical salesperson that wants to be a part of the exciting growth of the market. This exciting role will involve new sales, development of your market area and following through with all aspects of account management of your customers. Up to 120 days of travel may be expected, but you have the ability to manage your time and travel as required.

An interest in developing the technical skills for understanding and interpreting performance predictions is necessary along with the ability to assist the customers in both understanding the advantages of waterjet propulsion and the MJP product portfolio.

Developing a thorough understanding of the MJP portfolio and working with the marine customers product chain – design houses, shipyards and end users – is critical to develop the relationships needed to build the MJP business.

Business development will be conducted by various interactions with the customers – via regular visits, calls, exhibitions and industry events, therefore being comfortable speaking in front of individuals and groups is a necessity. Working with the marketing team to best cultivate opportunities in your region is also needed.

The ability to work both internally and with MJP customers in developing solutions to their requirements is critical to success, so you should be able to think outside the box and focused on "win-win" solutions.

Negotiation skills and ensuring that MJP business objectives are met is a key aspect to the successful fulfillment of the role. You will be part of the MJP team that will support a successful sales process from first contact, technical and commercial offers, contract negotiations and management and support.

The position requires you to have an understanding of the industry. A qualified marine engineer (naval architect) or shipyard experience especially with propulsion is an asset.

Other requirements for the position:

· B driver´s license

· Social ability and competence to be able to network with a wide range of different personal profiles

· Extroverted, driven and relationship builder

· Assuming responsibility and good self-discipline to plan and time manage activities.

· English fluency

· Self-motivated. Sales drive!

Meritorious for the position:

· Experience in sales within the industry or a closely related industry

· Swedish language skills

· CRM skills (Sales Force application is an advantage)

· Skills in social media (How they work and how to use them in prospecting and follow-up)
