The Durability Department is responsible for the attributes Strength and Durability, Corrosion, Retained Newness and Robustness to Fire. We perform component and system testing in related areas of mechanical or material testing and chemical analysis. This position is within the Chemistry and Fuel System group that today consists of 17 persons. We are responsible for material testing of polymer materials in the engine compartment as well as chemical and physical analysis of polymer materials and automotive chemicals. We have access to a well-equipped laboratory with analytical instruments and rigs for component testing to ensure quality in our components.

As our Technical Specialist Polymers you will be responsible for concerns regarding polymer materials. You must have knowledge of polymers (elastomer and plastic) and how they are to be used in engine and chassis applications. The polymers used must achieve premium quality for our customers regarding both life-time dependability and safety. The area is challenging with new material combinations, higher temperature loads, fluids, and mechanical stress with long-term impact.

Main responsibilities

* Accountable for selecting the right polymer material for the application
* Responsible for design and supervision of test methods and set up test rigs
* Extensive knowledge of different test methods within the polymer field
* Responsible for technical research and strategies development
* Establishing networks internally, academically as well as with producers and suppliers

Required qualifications

* M.Sc or Ph.D. within the field
* 10 years of experience in polymer materials
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* Experience in laboratory work and as a leader
* Knowledge and expertise in applicable analysis and verification methods
* Experience from product development in the automotive industry is meritorious
