Test Engineer

Driveline Test & Prototype Operations (TnPO) Sweden is responsible for bench testing of Driveline Systems. Driveline systems is a core competence within Volvo CE and includes development of transmissions, brakes and wheel axles including SW & controls predominantly for large products in Volvo CE, e.g Articulated Haulers, Wheel Loaders and Motor Graders.

Job description
You will be involved directly in development projects and will be in charge of executing bench tests on axles and/or transmission. You will define the testing program together with our Verification & Validation department, write the test specifications and coordinate a team of mechanic and test cell technicians in achieving the tests. You will work both with development and verification tests.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop test specifications including the analysis and definition of load data and involve necessary stakeholders to gather required input,
Develop the test plan together with Verification and Validation department
Conduct tests and lead work with test cell technicians and mechanics
Lead problem solving when required
Analyze test data and report to projects by participating & attending project meetings and providing adequate test conclusions

Essential educational and/or training qualifications and certificates
Master or Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
You should have at least 3+ years´ experience as a production or development or testing engineer on transmissions or axles
You are self-reliant, structured, open minded and a ?pro-active? individual.

Ideally, you have a working knowledge in lifetime testing. Experience of evaluating measurement data results and create conclusions from it. You know how to develop test methods and how to create manual and automated test cycles. Having worked with measurement and analysis tools such as FAMOS, Glyphworks, ATIVision, CANanalyzer is a merit.
You have the desire to improve everything you do and have ideally a working knowledge of quality improvement Lean tools such as 5S, A3 problem solving.
You are fluent both in Swedish and English.
