We are now looking for a highly motivated and creative Test Engineer to strengthen our growing battery testing team.

About

Testing has always been a key area at Scania, we test a lot and we invest heavily in in-house capabilities to ensure that the knowledge buildup occurs within the company. The battery is the core component of an electrified vehicle, it must give the premium properties that our customers have the right to expect from Scania. So, in order to develop the worlds best BEV truck, our testing and validation must be the best.

Our team, Battery pack and vehicle testing, is responsible for testing the energy storage on the scale from complete packs to full vehicle. We plan and execute tests and analyze results in order to ensure that the batteries fulfill the requirements we need to achieve to continue be a leader within commercial vehicles. The majority of the testing is performed in-house in our new state-of-the-art battery lab.

Your profile

You are driven, ambitious, and analytical with experience from testing in rigs or vehicles. Additionally you have a strong curiosity and love for technology. You understand the nature of experimental work and enjoy working with hardware with a strong understanding about the underlying hardware that you are testing. The test objects are complex with a lot of built-in intelligence and diagnostics so understanding of embedded systems is of merit.


• Strong problem solving skills and a can-do attitude
• 3-5 years of working experience from related fields
• A broad skillset ranging from the theoretical and digital world to hands-on work
• Experience from advanced data analysis and data visualization is meriting, preferably in Matlab or Python
• Experience from embedded systems and on-vehicle communication protocols(ex CAN) is meriting
• MSc or PhD within vehicle, mechanical or electrical engineering or other relevant discipline
• Good knowledge of English is a requirement, knowledge of Swedish and German is meriting

Your tasks

As a test engineer, the mission is to execute and report tests, on time and with high quality. The main tasks include test planning, writing test scripts, supporting or performing the execution of the tests, analyzing test results and writing reports. Troubleshooting and general problem solving are frequent. The role includes close cooperation within the team and with laboratory staff members as well as other test stakeholders. We work actively with improving our methods on a continuous basis and have a culture that welcomes new ideas and approaches!
