Test engineer - Powertrain Software and Controls 

Powertrain Engineering at CEVT is responsible development of new global electrified powertrains from the early concept phase to industrialization. Our organization plays an important role since these systems will continue to be the main technologies for the Geely group going forward. CEVT is an important innovation center in the Geely Group, which brings a great opportunity to contribute to innovating new technology for future powertrains to be used across brands in the Geely Group.

As Test Engineer you will be working in the Software and Controls department at Powertrain engineering being part of the System Test team. The team is responsible for developing and conducting tests on Systems included in the hybrid and electrical drivetrain. 

As part of an expanding team you will be working in a creative environment shaping tomorrows test methods within powertrain engineering. You will work closely with the other development teams practicing our agile way of working. 

Role description

The Test Engineering role include tasks such as specifying system testcases, implementing them in our automated test framework and executing tests in either HIL or car. System tests in this case includes functional, diagnostic and safety tests. 

The team mainly use Vector Canoe and ETAS INCA to fault trace and log communication in the system. Good knowledge in CAN communication, control units and diagnostic protocol in vehicle electrical system is therefore a benefit. You will implement automated tests in our internal developed Python based test framework meaning that you should have experience from Python or similar programming language. The tests are executed in our HIL rigs at Powertrain engineering connected to a world class CI environment.   

The team execute tests in car meaning that this role requires a drivers license valid for driving in Sweden. We sometimes participate in summer or winter expeditions or travel to China to execute tests which opens for the opportunity to travel in this role. You should not be afraid of hands on work in our HIL rigs or cars since this is required when fault tracing the system. Mandatory trainings will be provided by CEVT.   

The System Test team today consist of several very competent members from all over the world, so being able to communicate in English is a must. Automotive experience is required and if you have Powertrain domain experience it will be a plus. 

Your mindset should be open, curious and with an aim of finding solutions. As a person you should possess a drive for changes and implementations and be engaged to the tasks that you are responsible for. A good team player but be able to work individually.

Main Qualifications summarized
* B.Sc or M.Sc in Electrical, Mechatronics or SW Engineering. 
* Drivers license B.
* Fluent in English, written and spoken.
* Automotive experience, preferably with in the Powertrain domain, including components such as transmission, combustion engine, electric machine and inverter 
* Able to travel for summer and/or winter expedition in Europe, and to China for testing.   
* Experience in Vector and ETAS test tools. 
* Knowledge and experience from Python programming language, or similar.
