The group Active Safety and Supplemental Restraint Systems (SRS), Analysis and Verification is a part of Volvo Car Groups Active Safety department, at the Electrical and Electronics Unit within Research and Development. which drives the development of the Volvo core value - Safety.
We are responsible for Analysis and verification of several different systems such as CADS (Collision Avoidance and Driver Support), parking maneuvering, parking cameras, automatic parking, BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) and SRS. All these involved sensors and systems will be part of the future self-driving cars together with many new sensors. Our test methods today are both on bench, rigs, cars and CAE. Our daily work is performed in close collaboration with both our internal design departments such as the Active Safety CAE group, electrical, interior/exterior, ergonomics as well as external suppliers.

We are now searching for two Analysis Engineers who will be testing coming Autonomous Drive (AD) and Autonomous Driving and Active Safety (ADAS) systems and sensors. You will be a part of the project team, plan and lead the verification as well as report to management. Different technical solutions are to be evaluated to secure that the vehicles meet our high safety standards. This is a cross functional role and you will have regular contact with engineers from technical areas and the product development departments.

Main responsibilities

* Be part of the AD/ADAS project teams
* Plan and lead the verification
* Prepare and perform the sensor and system testing
* Be responsible for developing new test methods
* Analyze test results and communicate with involved parties
* Participate in field expeditions where the sensors system and functions are tested in different environments

Required qualifications

* M.Sc or B.Sc in mathematics, mechatronics, electronics or physics
* At Least 2-3 years of work experience
* Experience from Matlab and Simulink
* Experience in using Vector products such as CANoe, CANalyzer and CANApe
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* PhD in mathematics, mechatronics, electronics or physics is meritorious
* Team leader or project leader experience is meritorious
* An asset would be years of experience within automotive development
* Meritorious is programming languages such as C++, .Net and Java
* Former experience from working with the areas; sensor or system development is meritorious

* Strong analytical skills with a mathematic approach
* Structured and focused on methodologies
* Passion for technique, analysis, our products and customers
* Ability to independently develop, plan, conduct and follow up work towards objectives
