Optimization of blister packaging line

Business area
The manufacturing unit PET Packing within the Oral Solid Dosage site in Gärtuna, Södertälje, regularly packs more than 6 million blisters per week and supplies a large portion of the world with life saving medicines.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Learn the packaging process, analyze the material and product flow and suggest/implement improvements to reduce waste, quality risks and re-work.
Collect and evaluate data from different sources (operators, machine logs, batch records, …) to find optimization possibilities.

In all steps you will work closely together with the production operators, machine technicians and packaging engineers to find and implement solutions for improvement.
An absolute criteria is the non-compromising of quality as we operate fully within GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and all implementations will be reviewed by a quality associate.

The thesis work can be tailored towards sustainability or productivity depending on student background and interest.

Essential Requirements
Masters thesis for engineering student within production, sustainability, chemistry, physics, mechanics, life science or similar.
Fluent in Swedish.
Desirable Requirements
High social skills.
High analytical skills.
Experience of production flow mapping / lean tools.
Knowledge of qualification/validation in a GMP environment.
