Transmission engineering leader

Volvo Construction Equipment is producing and developing the drive train components for Volvo construction equipment. The main office is located in Eskilstuna, but manufacturing is also located in other countries and in some cases performed in co-operation with other companies in different places. Driveline Technology Platform is responsible for engineering and development of transmission and axles, fore the entire Volvo construction equipment company.. The technology platform is divided into four sub-departments with a total of about 40 employees. We are now looking for a: Transmission engineering Leader - Transmission systems You will work within the Driveline technology department in pair with the Axle engineering leader. This involves leading the transmission development and evolution for both in-house developed and external sourced transmissions. An important part of the position is close contact with our suppliers, internal as well as external. The work includes the whole life cycle of a product - from advance engineering into early project phases, e.g. pre-study, to industrialisation and product maintenance. The work is mainly performed in a project organisation. This position is based in Eskilstuna Sweden, travelling within and outside Sweden is required and can be frequent periodically Required qualifications: Master or bachelor degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent). Documented experience from transmission system and development Target oriented, flexible and able to work independently as well as leading people and teams. High co-ordination skills and ability Proven and high degree of social competence Documented skills in supplier relations Complete mastery of Swedish as well as English, both written and spoken, additional language is an advantage Experience from off-road business is preferred
