VACANCY FOR VISA/RISK MANAGER

The UK Border Agency is looking to recruit a full-time Visa and Risk Assessment Manager, based at the British Embassy in Stockholm, also covering visa applications made in Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Norway.The role involves managing a team of staff processing applications for entry to the UK, ensuring that regulations are applied correctly and fairly and that only those who qualify are able to enter the UK.
The successful candidate lead, supervise and represent the UKBA team, providing day to day operational management which includes assessing risk, achieving targets, gathering and handling intelligence and working jointly with the Immigration Liaison Manager in Copenhagen.There will be a requirement for travel, mainly within the Nordic region.
Essential requirements for the job are:

.Knowledge of UK Government immigration rules (although training will be provided).
.Pre-existing work authorisation for Sweden if not a Swedish national
.Previous line management experience .
.Previous experience of managing a team through change
.Strong English language skills, both oral and written.For those not educated in the medium of English please provide evidence of IELTS level 7.0 or equivalent

In order to fully test candidates against these competence areas, the recruitment process will involve a written application, a practical in-tray exercise, a presentation and an interview.
Training and mentoring for the role will be provided for the successful candidate.This will include training in London and the region.The successful candidate is expected to commence employment by 1 June 2010.This will initially be a one year contract.
Please note: Employment will be subject to a high level of security clearance.It is unlikely that it would be possible to arrange this level of clearance within the timeframe for anyone who is not a British, European, Canadian, Australian, US or New Zealand national.
