HEAD OF ANALYTICS AND DATA SCIENCE AT VIAPLAY

THE POSITION



As Head of Analytics and Data Science you will be part of the Viaplay Customer Experience and Insights department that supports the Viaplay organization with analytics and recommendations covering the whole business spectrum from product to financials. Viaplay has a profound belief in data-driven decision making, and the objective for Analytics and Data Science is to drive the analyses together with our business stakeholders, enabling Viaplay to make better decisions and optimize our subscriber growth based on solid statistics. We constantly challenge ourselves to learn more about our customers, leveraging advanced analytical models and concepts such as machine learning and data mining.



You will manage, support and develop a team of talented analysts and data scientists performing analyses on large data sets and studying user behavior to extract actionable insights for the organization. You will provide thought leadership to develop a data-driven culture among stakeholders and evangelize data driven decision making throughout the company, working close to the business to help stakeholders in identifying opportunities for data-driven value creation.



THE CHALLENGE AHEAD



In this role you will work closely with the Viaplay management team and different parts of the organization, helping us to better understand how our service is used. You will be responsible for setting the analytics and data science strategy of the company and drive the execution.



You will lead a team of Analysts and Data Scientists and encourage knowledge sharing, innovation and make sure we have an environment where problem solving and personal development is in focus.


• Set the analytics/data science strategy for the company
• Managing the analytics and data science team
• Work with the management team to support setting the strategic vision, infusing a data-driven approach
• Identify opportunities that can be improved through data-driven decisions
• Partner with other teams to raise business questions and determine analytical approaches




 



WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR



Wed like you to combine your analytical skills with your business acumen. You have a strong background in statistical analysis and modelling. In addition, we would also like you to have experience with machine learning and data mining.


• 5+ years of work experience in analytics or data science, working with big datasets
• Business acumen, being able to see the bigger picture
• Expertise in analytics programming/query tools (R, Hadoop, SQL, etc.)
• Strong leadership abilities and experience
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities, technical skills and strong data sensibility/integrity
