Axis is looking for the right person to fill an open position as a Video Analytics Engineer for our Analytics & Systems team within our R&D department at Axis.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As a Video analytics Engineer you will be part of the innovative Analytics competence group within Core Technologies. The group plans and develops base technology related to image analysis / computer vision such as object segmentation and tracking. The driving force is technology platforms.

We also work with the software infrastructure required to integrate analytics in Axis embedded platforms and SDK? for use by external or internal partners to build applications. Your main focus will be to develop algorithms to continue our successful analytics strategy for network video surveillance.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Algorithm development for analytics applications within computer vision and audio analysis etc., this also includes integration into product platforms
* Development of video analytics code libraries for use by 3rd party developers.
* Researching new analysis technologies for video surveillance.
* Supporting application development in product development projects.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We believe that you are an open minded engineer that is able to think outside the box. It’s important that you have the ability to work with others and are willing to share your work in a team oriented environment.

In addition to above we believe you have:

* an Engineering/Technical Masters degree or equivalent. You also need to have excellent skills in algorithm development for video analytics and excellent C-programming skills.
* Experience of embedded systems programming under Linux
* Good skills in software modularization, module interface design and hardware abstraction techniques
* Knowledge of implications of limited resources in embedded systems on algorithm development
* Knowledge of algorithm development for analytics applications outside the video domain, e.g. audio is considered a merit
*  Excellent skills in Swedish and English written & oral communication is required

THE ANALYTICS & SYSTEMS TEAM
The Core Technologies – Analytics & Systems team are responsible for the long-term technology agenda within the strategic areas Analytics and Systems. We perform technology road mapping; execute the roadmap by developing technologies and assist toward platform integration of technologies. We also act as a competence center within Axis with regard to the core competence areas. In addition to this we define test methods and standards to be used by Axis as a whole. 

The Analytics competence group within Core Technologies – Analytics & Systems focuses their work on identifying and implementing technologies aimed at increasing the value of the network for surveillance applications. This includes algorithm development for video analytics, identification of new technology trends and technology development using combinations of sensors for improved analytics.
