VPS Concept Deployment

Position Description:
Powertrain Production is part of Group Trucks Operations, we have 8400 employees. Powertrain Production is one of the world's largest manufacturers of heavy-duty diesel engines for commercial vehicles. We provide diesel engines and transmission systems to the Volvo Group Business Areas. Powertrain production also remanufacture, renovate a range of products for example remanufactured engines and transmission components, factory renovated engines and assembly of new components & new engines. We have facilities in Ageo, Charlotte, Curitiba, Flen, Hagerstown, Köping, Leganes, Limoges, Middletown, Skövde and Venissieux.

Mission
In close relation with Global Process and Production units, deploy, harmonize and implement VPS processes aiming to reach world class performance. You will be the interface between plants and the functions to ensure compliance with global guides and also to harmonize their development.

Work description
As VPS Concept Deployment Manager you will be responsible to lead the deployment and harmonization of GTO VPS processes within Powertrain Production. You will be responsible to assure the development regarding VPS methods, tools and system and also be responsible to manage interface towards different support functions. You will report to the Vice President of VPS and be a member of the GTO and head of VPS Concept Deployment management network as well as member of the management team of VPS Powertrain Production.

Main activities and responsibilities
Lead the deployment process of VPS Concept within Powertrain Production.
Lead Powertrain Production functions network regarding VPS demands.
Lead and coordinate focused improvement projects network.
Regional cooperation and utilization of resources, sharing of improvement initiatives.
Performance audits, coaching and workshops.
Facilitate and encourage benchmarking and best practices sharing
Support Product and Industrial project to secure adaptation on VPS principles
Participate in several VPS forums
Prepare reports, presentations

Critical competencies and qualifications for the position
As VPS Concept Deployment Manager you need to have a documented experience gained from similar positions, preferably within Powertrain area in Volvo.

Deep knowledge in Lean manufacturing, TPM, TQC and TIE.
Strong knowledge about VPS concepts, methodology, tools and targets.
Senior management position with production experience mainly in assembly, machining, internal logistics, with benchmark experience in world-class manufacturing plants.
Ability to learn from others and adapt/adjust current way of working.
Ability to teach, coach on theory and practical (gemba).
Good logic and perception
Able to analyze global view to details
Ability to lead teams and global network
As all documentation is in English, proficiency in the English language is required.
University degree in Engineering
Ability to lead activities & projects in a multi-cultural environment
