Your role

Kockums IM&T department support our Shipbuilding Business in the area of naval architecture / naval engineering. We address the engineering disciplines incorporating hull and superstructure, mechanical, electrical, electronic, software and safety engineering as applied to the engineering design process, shipbuilding (new-build and modifications), maintenance and operation of marine vessels. Shipbuilding involves activities such as preliminary design of the vessel, its detailed design, construction, trials, operation and maintenance. The multi-disciplinary character of Shipbuilding requires general knowledge and skills in ship design and systems engineering.

As a Shipbuilding Expert you will be part of our IT Methods and Tools (IM&T) team. IM&T is the company's central IT department, which in addition to the traditional IT operations are responsible to support and develop all digital R&D, ERP and Production solutions needed for development and maintenance of our products. We are deeply involved in Saab Kockums world class operations and support the development and production of our products such as next generations of submarines and surface ships

We are now looking for additional Shipbuilding experts with IT skills, both with Naval Architect and Information Management profile, to support our business. We welcome you who are curious and eager to learn, bringing a deeper knowledge in Shipbuilding Solutions and/or shipbuilding expertise with relevant Information Management skills.

You will be part of our IT organisation where we develop processes and methodology, creating new capabilities and develop new functionality as well analyse and solving problems working together in cross functional teams.


The main tasks are:

* Support our engineers in naval architecture activities involving basic and applied research, design, development, design evaluation (classification) during all stages of the life of a marine vessel.
* Support, develop methods and educate users in the use of our Shipbuilding solutions
* Further Develop our Information Management towards Digital twin
* Secure best practice and staying up to date in the relevant field of technology

Your profile

We are looking for you who are an operative team player with a passion for helping our business improve and perform, by supporting our co-workers in their daily work. You are proactive and open to challenges with a pragmatic view on problem solving. As a person, you are curious, structured and likes to view the tasks from a broad perspective. You have a good sense of producing and maintaining qualitative and robust solutions that benefits the business. To be successful in the role you have an eye to details, you need to be communicative, service minded with good skills in analysing information.

Required skills:

* Experience in the field of Shipbuilding industry or Offshore solutions
* Experience and knowledge of Information Management standards and frameworks
* Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, verbal and written



Desired skills:

* Experience of Shipbuilding CAD solutions e.g. Siemens, Smart Marine, Cadmatic, NAPA, knowledge of Aveva is a plus
* Good insight in IT security/cyber security
* University studies in the field of Naval Architecture, Information Technology or relevant proven IT experience through work life
* Experience from naval defense industry is a plus
* Experience from configuration and administration of software, programming and database knowledge is a plus
* Driving license B



This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.

Place of employment is either Karlskrona or Malmö. Business trips between the two sites will occur occasionally.
