Business Controller to Scania Finans AB

Scania Finans AB is a company within Scania Financial Services (SFS) that offers financing and insurance solutions in seven markets in the Nordic and Baltic countries. Scania Finans has a loan financing portfolio of SEK 16 billion, the largest financing company within SFS. The company has about 90 employees, half of which are located at the head office in Södertälje.

We are now looking for a business controller with a true passion for business who can contribute to the development and strengthening of our team! The finance function at Scania Finans consists of a team of business controllers as well as an accounting and reporting department with financial controllers who work closely together to support the management as well as the organization with performance reports, analysis and decision material. This task demands qualitative, timely and relevant financial information.

Job summary

In order to be successful in this position, you need to be able to combine a good business understanding with analytical and financial skills. You will be responsible for the business control of our seven markets within SFA as well as the SFA group as a whole in close cooperation with the team of business controllers. Both when it comes to the financial follow up and analysis, financial planning and management accounting as well as acting as a business partner in different projects and discussions. You will also work with continuous improvements and development of our current processes.

In addition you will support SFA’s management and organization in understanding the current performance from a financial perspective and how the current performance is contributing to reaching the financial and operational goals of the company. Furthermore, you will have a key part in the financial planning and budgeting processes of SFA. You will report to SFA’s Finance Manager.

Your profile

We are looking for a person with a passion for business and a good understanding as well as interest in business financial performance with the ambition to contribute to Scania Finans finance department and its continued development. The ideal candidate for this position will have:


• A degree in finance, business administration, economics or similar.
• 3-5 years’ previous experience from controlling.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience of improvement work.
• Strong communication skills.
• Professional fluency in English and Swedish.
• Knowledge of accounting concepts, rules and regulations.
• Experience from developing and/or using Business Intelligence systems is a merit.
• Experience from banking, finance and / or insurance business is seen as a merit.

Personal skills

To be able to solve complex tasks you need to be analytical as a person and have high problem solving skills. The ability to focus on details without losing grip of the big picture is therefore essential in order to succeed in your role. You should have the ability to both work independently and as part of a team. A service minded and solution oriented attitude is something we place great value in, therefore you need to have both social and communicative skills since the position will expose you to both internal and external contacts.
