About us at Personal Driving Experience Center and the team
Our mission is to develop and deliver an excellent driver and passenger experience in all Volvo cars. We have the responsibility to ensure that all dynamic attributes such as Steering, Handling, Ride, Braking, Driver Assistance, Performance, Driveability, Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH) and Sound Quality are supported in the vehicle programs, both in terms of customer and legal requirements.

Do you want to work in a creative environment shaping tomorrow’s vehicles and virtual methods for Vehicle Dynamics? Then the role as CAE Engineer in our expanding team Vehicle Dynamics Concept Team, is the place for you to prosper!

The team is responsible to perform concept development, verification and support industrialization for all vehicle programs. We perform CAE analyses through simulation of ride, handling and steering attributes on component, system and full vehicle level. We use multiple simulation disciplines including Multi-Body-Simulation (Adams/Car), Software-In-the-Loop and Real-Time subjective assessments in our dynamic driving simulator. We work closely with surrounding attribute teams as well as design teams creating a dynamic work environment with a clear impact on future Volvo Cars.

Your contribution
You will be responsible for planning and performing virtual multi body simulations, including analysis of results, recommendation of design changes and reporting. You will be part of develop new methods and tool for chassis development, model build, development and validation in Adams/RT and VI-CarRealTime. You will also program test scenarios and post-processing as well as communicate vehicle project deliveries.

You will also be involved in the Driver-In-the-Loop team ensuring that we can subjectively assess simulation models in our industry leading driving simulator. You will get the opportunity to participate in advanced engineering assignments, all in order to optimise vehicle dynamics performance in all our vehicle projects.

What you bring
We see that you have a Master of Science or higher education in Mechanical/Vehicle Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mechatronics Engineering, Mathematics or similar, in addition you will also need experience from CAE in the field of Vehicle Dynamics.

Beneficial would be understanding of NVH and structure dynamics and/or proficiency in dynamic modelling using Adams/Car or equivalent. Experience in programming, simulation of control systems and/or driving simulators would also be an advantage as well as a driver’s license B.

As a person, you are an enthusiastic team player with a progressive approach. You like to be transparent and communicative with people around you. Last but not least, you have a genuine interest in cars and technology.
