About the company:
Nutheim is a small family own hotel in the rural part of Telemark. Its runned by me, Solveig and my mum Ellen. We are 3th and 4th generation runners/owners.The hotel is a wooden building and has a rich history and a fantastic view. The hotel has 17 rooms devided on 5 buildings. We have our main season during summer. We serve breakfast, lunsj a la carte between 12-16 and 4-cours dinner at 19. The hotel has a homish and traditional atmosphere. We as owners are working close to our staff and talk every day/evening with our guests.
We try to have a high standard of hospitality and food without getting snobby.
Number of employees: All year its me and my mum and sometime some extra help. Summer time we 5-6 persons a day additional to us.
About the job:
Make lunsj and dinner. Prepare menys, maintain kitchen system, keep the kitchen, fridges and freezers tidy and clean. You have to be able to work independently.
Skills:
Education is not required, but you need good experience from running a kitchen. Hard working and tidy. You have to talk english or Norwegian. Everything is home made. Our kitchen has a French/european based meny build up on local ingredienses. So knowledge of French kitchen and how to make demi-glace is needed.
Its nice if you have some wine experience and like to talk/present meny for guests.
Patience and kid and people friendly - I have 3 dauthers and other family that run into the kitchen every day.
Additional information:
I will be helpful to find an accomandation. Be aware that this is the Norwegian contryside and fare from any town/center. To have a car and driverlicence would be advantageous.
