Job Description
We are looking for a research analyst to strengthen our frontier markets investment team. The primary responsibility of the analyst will be to cover specific equities in global markets across Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Latin America. The ideal candidate should have a background in emerging/frontier markets and knowledge of how different businesses operate, fundamental analysis, financial modelling, and equity valuation. The position will be based in Stockholm, Sweden.


Main responsibilities
· Research across markets and industries with focus on individual stocks


· Fundamental analysis of individual companies by following company financials, interacting with management teams and building own models


· ESG analysis of companies and preparation for engagement if need be


· Monitoring current investments and making investment recommendations on new companies to the investment committee


· Travelling across the region for 1-1 company meetings, conferences and other relevant events that would help support the investment process


· Providing summary notes on interactions with companies


· Supporting the team by contributing to and updating relevant internal and external presentations

Eligibility and profile
· One to two Masters or equivalent degree in relevant fields of study


· Minimum 5 years of fundamental equity research experience on the buy/sell side


· Experience in frontier and/or smaller emerging markets


· CFA designation is strongly preferred, but not a must


· Asian/Middle Eastern frontier market language skills strongly required


· Knowledge of ESG processes is a plus


· Outstanding analytical skills with a strong quant background


· Strong ability to “command” software such as Excel and Bloomberg as opposed to an ability to simply “use” them

As a person, you are analytical and have an ability to make high quality evaluations, both of data and text. East Capital is an entrepreneurial environment and you are expected to be committed and willing to contribute on own initiative as well maintaining set processes. You need to be confident with yourself and able to stand by your findings in conversation with senior colleagues and third parties.

Fluency in Swedish and English, and at least one other language skills relevant for our markets, both spoken and written, is a requirement.
