Stainless Steel Yachts is a Swedish-American company with its headquarters in Newport Beach, California with additional offices and production sites in Gävle and Stockholm, Sweden. As Stainless Steel Yachts rapidly grows, the Swedish production site expands in fall 2020 and will continue to grow internationally in the coming years. Stainless Steel Yachts current product portfolio includes marine vessels in three different hull lengths; 10, 12, and 17 meters (33, 40, and 56 feet). Stainless Steel Yachts has a wide variety of customers that include the private sector, civil organizations, government, and defense. Production will start in Gävle, Sweden fall 2020.

About the role:
-You act as the bridge between design and construction by performing structural strength calculations through both numerical methods and the finite-element-method. The input can derive from design models, CAD models, and sketches. The calculations apply to the hull, deck, superstructure, and other components on the vessels. Stainless Steel Yachts vessels primarily go for compliance with ISO- and DNV standards.
-You work with regulatory frameworks and standards which you will be responsible for creating the related reports (certification documentation) in your area of responsibility.
-You should be comfortable with an iterative design- and development process. To optimize our products, you are required to provide feedback to the design team.
-You will be a part of a project-oriented team focusing on product development of the finest marine vessels one can imagine.
-You will report to the project manager in your daily work, who assigns the areas of responsibility for the designated project.
-The offices are based in Gävle and Stockholm, Sweden, where you choose one of them as your base, with availability for remote work. With team members in Newport Beach, California, virtual communication with the Newport Beach team is required.
-The company language is English.

We think you are a fit if:
-Have a master's degree in engineering or applied physics, mechanical engineering, marine engineering, or equivalent.
-Have experience in extensive work with the finite-element-method.
-It is rewarding if you have experience with marine vessel production.
-It is a big plus if you have experience with CAD-software and can create CAD-models based on your calculations.
-Are a good communicator in written language, report writing is something you perform on a daily basis.
-Takes great responsibility in the end-to-end product chain.
