About Retail Space and Healthy & Relevant Store Portfolio
Customer Experience is and will always evolve redefining the role of each touchpoint along the customer journey. We believe that our physical stores are in the center of this evolution as here we can connect, build relations and let our customers experience the brand deeper than in no other channel. To utilize that channel’s unique strengths and to accelerate the transformation of our physical store portfolio, Healthy & Relevant Store Portfolio Leap has been initiated to develop cross functionally Strategic Plan for portfolio transformation. Retail Space alongside other functions and regions, is a part of it.
Retail Space consists of the teams Format Development, Services & Features, Commercial Development, H&M Store Design, Change and Controlling, Test & Analysis.
As Head of Format Development for Retail Space you will be a key member in the function and the H&M central organization, responsible for defining and developing a store format library as part of our Brand Plan and Channel Strategy.
Your main responsibilities are, but is not limited to:
Customer Experience Development. Together with Head of Creative Retail Space drive development work improving the Customer Experience in our physical stores, securing that we are staying true to our business idea: Fashion and quality at the best price in sustainable way and reflecting our Brand Direction, DNA & Identity.
Staff responsibility. Staff responsibility for a team of Project Managers, securing their constant development and empowerment on the journey of relevant format development. You secure access to relevant data and you order relevant analysis and research to support your team’s strategic work.
Channel Strategy & Store Formats’ Development. You take part in the cross-functional network, that develops our Channel Strategy. You drive development The Store Formats Library, as a response to that strategy and growth needs recognized by Regions and Business units. You collaborate with other functions that owns the development agenda of particular store components to align their scope with developed formats.
Test & Learn. You collaborate with the Test & Learn team, defining hypothesis that you want to validate through tests in store environments.
Store Portfolio understanding. You collaborate with Global Expansion to understand the current condition of stores portfolio, it’s potential and where we have the biggest challenges and to implement developed formats. Your development work is aligned with our long -term Portfolio Strategy.

To be a successful Head of Format Development, we also believe you have/are:
+ 5-8 years of experience in Business Development within the retail industry.
Experience in setting cross-channel strategies and integrating customer journey.
+ 5 years of leadership experience.
A proven track-record in working with customer experience.
A visionary leader, that understands where retail is going and can drive the strategic agenda forward, set vision and enables team to deliver towards set vision and goals.
A good understanding of digital environment in retail business and how it influences development of physical store.
Experience in change management and working in agile processes.
Have the ability to manage senior stakeholders and has extra ordinary communications skills.
Obsessed with customer and you know how to recognize customer needs.

This is a full-time permanent position based in Stockholm, and you will report to Dawid Gosciniak, Head of Retail Space. You will preferably be based in Stockholm but we are open to look at placements in other countries if it’s not possible for you to relocate.
