Business Area Networks (BNEW) is responsible for Ericsson´s industry leading radio products and solutions and is the foundation for Ericsson’s technology leadership. BNEW is focused on securing our ongoing market leadership in radio, taking a leadership position in 5G, and continuing to invest for sustainable technology leadership within a highly competitive market.
On April 9, 2020 we announce the creation of a new Product Development Unit (PDU) within Development Unit Networks (DNEW) – PDU Exilis. This new organization will be leading the acceleration and creation of an Exilis product offering with commercial deployments starting during 2020.
The new PDU will contain in one organization total life-cycle capability from architecture definition to deployment in customer networks & capability to contribute to open source communities in ONAP.
Now we are looking for a leader that truly embody BNEWs three C’s, Customer Focus, Collaboration and Can-do attitude, to head up PDU Exilis.
Reporting to the Head of Development Unit Networks (DNEW), you will be responsible for leading the new PDU Exilis organization in DNEW, which will have the design and release responsibility for the Exilis product portfolio, comprising early phases, product development, verification, product introduction and maintenance.

Job Responsibilities:

You will lead a global software team responsible for the Exilis portfolio, ensuring we as a company succeed in delivering a cloud native RAN offering to our customers, including:

Driving the establishment of new technologies and competences in DNEW for Cloud RAN & Open RAN products.
Growing a development organization and capability to meet the cloud-RAN business needs.
Understanding of and establishing an organization that can execute the full scope and responsibility to deliver a new product/technology to the market.
Collaborate with the other units in DNEW who are executing network functions for the Exilis offering and creating the architecture that enables Exilis to independently release business value to the market.
Drive the exploration of new ways of working, including sharing and deploying them into the rest of DNEW.
Collaboration with BDGS in driving adoption of ADP together with establishment of the Next-Gen management paradigm, including leading the interests of ERS in this area.
Lead collaboration with key partners, suppliers and eco-systems​
Support customer sales, technology interaction and negotiations securing the wanted separation in business and commercial models.


You will work closely with the Head of DNEW, Head of PL Exilis and other Units both within BNEW and in the wider Ericsson to ensure we have the product ready to carry new technologies to the market as well as the talents required to build these technologies.

You will be expected to work closely towards our market areas and customer units as well as Ericsson’s lead customers, supporting that our e2e flow is executed in customer centric, data driven and DevOps manner.
You will be responsible for developing, managing and executing a global site strategy in line with the overall DNEW site strategy. This also includes ensuring the overall competence, resource strategy, leadership and viability of the site including partners.


Qualifications & Skills Requirements:
Business acumen and understanding of Commercial /Sales process in Ericsson and in the industry.
Strong network in Ericsson, with Ericsson’s lead customers and the telecom industry at large.
Experience in customer and supplier interactions at a senior level.
Excellent grasp of market development, understanding customer and competitor situations
Strong technical background in relevant technologies & an understanding in how these technologies can deliver a new paradigm in R&D output.
Passion in identifying new ways of working (Lean, Agile & Beyond), organizing and driving R&D efficiency.
Accurate and to the point, ability to stand steady and work through issues towards key stakeholders.


Leadership Requirements:
Solid experience as a senior leader, preferably in a complex global organization with a multi-stakeholder environment.
Stakeholder management is essential, ability to advice Ericsson ET & Board including strategic decisions.
Courageous leadership, making timely, fact-based decisions to set the clear direction of behavior through uncompromising integrity
Strong drive towards milestones and delivery timelines, at the same time implementing BNEW strategy into R&D.
Ability to lead senior leaders, including experts. Strong cultural awareness and ability to lead multi-site organizations and projects.
Driving and embracing innovation and change with a collaborative mindset.
Outstanding communication skills, especially in the customer dimension. Transparency, listening and ability to motivate and inspire people with empathy and humanness.
