The World Maritime University was established in 1983 by the International Maritime Organization, a specialized agency of the United Nations. WMU wishes to enhance its role as a global centre of excellence for postgraduate education and research in the maritime field. WMU offers three Master of Science programs, one in Sweden and two in China, and a Ph.D. program in Maritime Affairs that offers doctoral students opportunities for research across the maritime field, from shipping & port management to maritime safety & security.
Within the coming months, we are seeking to fill a part-time position (50%) as Henrik Smith Residence Assistant to support the HSR Supervisor in running the Henrik Smith Residence (HSR).
Assist with the coordination of the timely cleaning and preparing of the 221 rooms of the two HSR buildings in close cooperation with the HRS Supervisor.
Support the HSR Supervisor with the operational running of HSR (physical and administrative tasks).
Contribute to the care and security of the residents and the facilities by following the respective rules, policies and established procedures.
Qualifications, competencies and professional experience
The successful candidate will have:
High school diploma.
Education in travel or hotel management is an advantage
A minimum of 3 years relevant working experience.
A minimum of 2 years relevant administrative experience.
Experience working in an international environment is highly recommended.
Experience in facility management is an advantage.
Skills and Knowledge:
Mature and upright personality.
Good self-direction and self-motivation.
Organized, thorough and goal oriented with attention to detail.
Familiarity with Swedish authorities, the Swedish system.
Prepared to work full time for days in a row on short notice and to cover to leave absence of HSR Supervisor.
Swedish: Fluent - advantageous
Knowledge of Microsoft Office package and Internet;
