Inside sales representative
Biotage offers solutions, knowledge and experience in the areas of analytical chemistry, medicinal chemistry, peptide synthesis, separation and purification. The customers include pharmaceutical and biotech companies, companies within the food industry and leading academic institutes. Biotage is headquartered in Uppsala where 70 of the company’s approx. 300 employees work, and the company is currently looking for dedicated and motivated persons to strengthen the inside sales-force.
As an inside sales representative your overall focus is, through an understanding of customer needs and requirements, to build long-term strategic relationships with customers to grow business and gain market share. You will primarily work with sales and support of consumables related to the company’s instrument-products, qualify incoming system leads to the European team, and support customers and account managers with application solutions for the organic and analytical business. In this role you are responsible for initial customer contact, closing business deals and securing delivery of product. You will actively establish new customer relationships, nurture existing ones and manage sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and e-mails. Internally you build and maintain the company’s customer relation management data system (CRM) by planning and recording all relevant activities, interactions and opportunities.
We are looking for someone with a graduate degree – preferably scientifically educated at university or college, or someone with equivalent relevant experience. The role requires a high degree of customer focus and a commercial mind-set, and it is meritorious if you have experience from inside sales and CRM-systems. To be able to support customers and staff with consumables- and instrument expertise you are expected to acquire necessary understanding of the products and get a high technical knowledge of the applications.
As a person you are responsible, self-motivated, service-oriented, and you thrive on a high level of activity in a networking role. You are well organized with high attention to detail. In order to be successful in this position you need to be flexible with good interpersonal skills and set to help where it is needed in the best interest of the company. You are outgoing with a strong customer focus, motivated to work in a cross-cultural atmosphere and have good communication and presentation skills. Since the position has a focus on the French- and Italian market it is an advantage if you are proficient in French and/or Italian. The position requires that you speak and write English fluently, and it is desirable if you understand and make yourself understood in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
