IT-related Service and product developer

Fjallbete AB needs an employee to help coordinating, designing and developing its envisioned products and services on regenerative agriculture for consumer-producer integration, livestock monitoring and remote sensing. The role requires background on software and hardware development as well as product development experience and exposure to regenerative agriculture sphere.




Background


Fjallbete AB’s context is based on “teaming with life” and serving Nordic and global regenerative agriculture community with needed services and products.


These services and products include, yet not limited to, platform designs, innovative livestock monitoring/management tools and contribution to remote sensing projects for monitoring ecosystem vitality.


This role will be an integral part of the coordination and development process of the services and products mentioned above. The position requires strong collaboration with other members of the team to ensure optimum design, exploration of marginal reaction leverages, revealing effective cooperation opportunities with 3rd parties as well as responsibility for ensuring the completion of design & development process for the services and products in the planned timeframe with exceptional quality.




Tasks and responsibilities


Drive the design, coding, and shipping of high-quality applications, services and IoT/IIoT solutions
Draft optimum design structures by compiling needs of parttaking stakeholders and team members,
Advise and contribute to the board and other team members on strategical decisions,
Suggest for additional hiring and/or outsourcing for differents tasks,
Assist and instruct less experienced team members, and coordinate outsourced work (if any)
Work with program management to contribute to new product and feature definitions
Design, code and deliver backend functionality, primarily using C# the .NET framework
Drive a high-quality bar in terms of code quality, unit testing, daily builds and automated runtime monitoring & alerts
Implementation of development methodology and tools




Required Qualifications
Entrepreneurial spirit, ability to understand and act on provided decision/initiative space while ensuring strong communication flow within team and related stakeholders,
Degree in Computer Science or related field (First Class Honours desired)
Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design.
Have 5+ years development experience of industrial, agricultural, livestock management applications. Having had own company/enterprise or other proof of entrepreneurial spirit is a plus.
Have 5+ years of experience in industrial-class IoT product and solution development.
Have been developing applications for 5+ years in .NET (preferably C#)
Strong experience with HTML/CSS and supporting technologies
Evidence of working with algorithms, data-structures, efficiency, concurrency, performance optimization.
Evidence of working with object-oriented development and design patterns.
Must have excellent problem-solving skills and love technical challenges
Good command of English


Great to have
Involvement and/or exposure to regenerative agriculture community with existing understanding of needs, dynamics and future growth opportunities.
Have a good understanding of the SOLID principles and how to apply them in daily work
Exposure to Windows environment, as well as Linux/UNIX environments including command-line tools
Experience in native Android application development
Understands the importance of automated tests and how to write unit tests and integration tests
Knows about domain-driven development principles and understands the importance of constraining complexity in large systems
Experience integrating open source or 3rd party APIs and libraries highly desirable
Exposure to Agile, Continuous Integration, Test-Driven Development is a plus
Experience in cloud computing, large-scale and high-availability distributed architecture
