Legal Counsel, Real Estate Focus

WHO YOU ARE
Ingka Group is the biggest IKEA franchisee and accounts for more than 90% of all, global, IKEA sales. Ingka Group operates around 380 stores, 46 shopping centres and over 100 fulfillment units in 30 countries.


As well as operating and managing a large real estate portfolio, we have an ambitious and strategic expansion agenda to penetrate existing and new markets in line with our customers’ fast changing needs and expectations including a target of expanding into over 40 major city centres around the world.


WHY WE NEED YOU:
Our ambitious, global real estate agenda requires support from our Group Legal & Governance team based in Malmö, Sweden and we are looking for a hands-on, results-driven lawyer who has experience in and an enthusiasm for working with international real estate transactions and commercial law matters to enable Ingka group to acquire, launch and manage Ingka real estate across the globe.


THE ROLE:
The position, based in Malmö, will require you to (among other things):
• review, draft and negotiate commercial real estate agreements;
• work on large-scale international real estate transactions;
• be a solution-driven problem solver who is always on the lookout for opportunities;
• provide commercial, legal support and advice;
• build strong relationships with your stakeholders and between different teams and functions;
• equip stakeholders with legal competence to enable them to make sound business decisions
• work with and lead external counsel.


Since the world is constantly changing - and Ingka with it - you will be comfortable with the uncomfortable and be able to handle fast moving, unclear and sometimes unpredictable situations.
You will also be a strong and clear communicator, able to express ideas and opinions in both writing and spoken conversations. You need to be an all-rounder, able to take instructions and support others as well as working both independently and in close co-operation with others including a team of in-house lawyers in Ingka Group, both on Group level and in the legal teams in the countries.

YOU HAVE:
• Strong academic qualifications (at least a bachelors law degree)
• At least 6 years’ professional experience from working in a law firm and/or in-house (some in-house experience is desirable)
• Excellent English language skills (we work in English) that include the ability to draft and negotiate in English.
