Volvo Cars is in the process of developing and industrialize the future propulsion systems based on battery and electric machines.  
Manufacturing Engineering - eMachines, is a section within Manufacturing Engineering within Volvo Cars. We develop and implement quality assured, flexible and effective production systems in Volvo Cars Propulsion Components production sites. The section is working cross functionally and project oriented, supporting all Volvo Car Group´s Propulsion Components Production Plants and car programs locally and globally. Within the team Local Line & Equipment, we are now looking for a new member working as a Local Area Engineer.

The team Local Line & Equipment is part of Manufacturing Engineering and has responsibility for develop and implement production lines and equipment solutions for product projects, running changes, capacity projects and non-product projects according to project targets for Volvo Cars electric machine production. 
You will be part of an engineering team that implement engineering solutions that fulfil attribute requirements and manufacturing process demands within decided cost and time frames. 
The work includes contacts with global teams, other engineering departments, plant engineering and production within our company as well as with external suppliers.
The position requires some travelling.

What will you do?

As our next Local Area Engineer, you will lead and participate in projects for a specific area of our electric machine production. Leading the work with the total manufacturing solution supporting our Lean Principles and following Volvo Cars Manufacturing System. Work in close collaboration with production management team to maintain and improve process and equipment performance within own area.
You will also: 
Manage of implementation Product Projects, Running Changes and Capacity Increase Requests within own area.
Lead local cross-functional network team for own area on a regular basis.
Responsible for leading and coordinate the total process scope (from floor to roof that is required for process installation) within own area.
Secure process changes within area together with Productivity Engineer, Logistic, Equipment Engineer, IT, Product and Process Engineering, Maintenance and Facility Management.
Create competitive advantage by deep and relevant knowledge within key areas for electric machines production.
Responsible for all management and coordination of process issues within own area.
Responsible for Value Stream Mapping for future state within own area
Develop strong interfaces and relationships with key stakeholders including Production Management Team, Program Management and Manufacturing Engineering.

Do you fit the profile?
Have at least B.Sc. in Engineering or by us evaluated equivalent competence gained by experience and also experience from project management.
You have experience from leading positions, good communication skills in English and Swedish, both spoken and written.
Also have experience from implementation of production lines and equipment. We believe you have great communication skills, and you collaborate well with others. We also think you are a structured person who plans and has documentation skills. Self-driven, result oriented, flexible and positive attitude are personal qualities we value.
