As Product Development Manager you oversee and lead our product development teams and processes. You know how to find ways to bring valuable contributions to a business that is severely exposed to international competition. In close cooperation with our sales and marketing functions you define our product and concept roadmap and transform it into in duly time launched solution offers. Your role is to identify both short-term and strategic objectives for our product development to make sure our offers to customers are the most attractive on the market.

Saft products are highly appreciated by our customers for their technical robustness and advantages, and for you it will be important to build strong relations and really understand “the need behind the need”. Our customers and users of our product installations are present worldwide with a specific concentration in the Middle East and Asia. To really know our customers and the end users, we expect you to have the capability to meet and interact with them to turn their needs into concrete value adding product development activities.

The Swedish R&D team is established as ”Technical Center for Pocket Plate” within the Saft Group. This means your team represents one out of two competence centers for product development within our Industrial Standby division. The team you will lead consists of experts within areas like chemistry, mechanical design, battery application, data analysis and project management. As Technical Center, the team supports not only the Swedish production site in Oskarshamn but also sister sites in Czech Republic and India.

Further, in your role you will have close interaction with the engineering teams worldwide within Saft Group and especially with our group R&D center in Bordeaux, France.

We expect you to have a M.Sc. either in the field of electrical engineering, electrochemistry, technical physics or another relevant field. You are well suited and experienced to an international industrial business environment and matrix organizations.

To be successful in your role you must enjoy combining your technical skills with commercial thinking and people management. We expect of you to lead through your teams to concur successes which in turn will give us satisfied customers. You focus on continuous improvements and find efficient working methods and processes that are lean and agile to deliver strong results to our markets in time.

It’s important for you to build trustful relations and you have strong communication skills to interact in our international context. You see travelling as a natural part of your role and with a patient and respectful approach you connect with partners and stakeholders all over the world.

In your role as Product Development Manager you report directly to the Managing Director of the Oskarshamn site and functionally to the CTO of Saft Group. Further we expect you to play an active part in the business development of the Oskarshamn company entity through your commitment in the Swedish management team.
