Product Manager / Tech lead

About the role
This Digital platforms product manager role sits within our Commercial Digital - Platform organisation, where we focus on delivering products supporting third parties in developing applications using official data, APIs, SDKs and more from Volvo Cars globally. This team has built the open innovation portal for making the products open to the market.

We’re looking for a Digital Platforms product manager to help us build new products, scale and develop applications for the Open Innovation Platform to new global markets and to think about the next generation of platform capabilities and direct-to-consumer experiences for Volvo.
This role is based in our Gothenburg, Sweden location

Responsibilities
* Translates complex cross-functional business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs, code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions; partners with Product Team to understand business needs and functional specifications
* Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure specifications are converted into flexible, scalable, and maintainable solution designs; evaluates project deliverables to ensure they meet specifications and architectural standards
* Build and deliver product roadmap that combines our API development priorities and enterprise-wide initiatives with a specific emphasis on providing clear goals aligning Volvo Cars and defining sustainable competitive differentiation
* Define and evangelize good developer experience with a solid grasp of software design patterns and approaches; understands application-level software architecture; makes technical trade-off decisions at application level and help establish standards at our products
* Oversee product and feature prioritization for the open innovation portal products, and keep the initiatives running on time within an agile development environment
* Own features from conception to launch, working with our design, engineering and QA teams to deliver improvements to our product
* Work with customers inside and outside to develop a deep understanding of user needs, behavior and metrics, looking for ways to improve key product metrics and our user experience
* Actively contributes to the complex architecture/design, technology selections and business problems; solutions are extensible; works to simplify, optimize, remove bottlenecks, etc.
* Provides mentoring and guidance to more junior level engineers and developers; may provide feedback and direction on specific engineering tasks

Requirements
* You have a bachelor’s degree and Master's Degree or equivalent education
* 4+ years of progressive experience in product management
* Ability to build APIs, products, and complex systems at scale
* Adept at ruthless prioritization in the face of competing priorities
* Experience working on large scale platforms or infrastructures
* Strong understanding of the REST, GraphQL, Web Hooks, OAuth, Open API Spec, Swagger, Developer Portal, API Gateway etc.
* Comfort working in an enterprise environment as part of a larger product portfolio
* Technical fluency to bridge the user and engineering communities comfortably
* Strong sense of ownership and track record of quality work
* Prior experience with cross departmental collaboration, specifically working closely with marketing, relationship managers and operations teams to ensure successful product launches
* Consistent track record of developing products with best-in-class customer experience
* Strong project management skills, and willingness/ability to own key parts of the product, end-to-end Meticulous attention to detail
* Strong leadership experience in aligning product strategy and execution efforts across large cross-functional groups, multiple locations and time zones
* Ability to travel internationally – 10-15% of the time
* Experience in Navigating and exerting influence in a non-hierarchical organization
* Excellent communication, mentoring and servant leadership skills
Experience working in matrix environments and fast growth organizations
