DICE is one of the world's foremost video game studios. What started as a small project in the 1990 s has through creating bestsellers as Rallisport Challenge and the Battlefield series made the company the number one game developer in northern Europe. Today 220 employees work on several game projects in a 5 500 m2 office with glass walls and fantastic view over Gamla Stan, Skeppsholmen and Saltsjön.


Beskrivning av arbetsuppgifter:
Senior Level Artists have an important role at DICE when it comes to compose and generate the graphic elements of the world. They have a big impact on the level design and game play since they are responsible for adapt design to focus tests. They are responsible for placing, world sculpting and in some projects also lighting and colour correction. Senior Level Artists are responsible for final user experience, both visual and game play quality. An important role is to coach and mentor Level Artists with object placing, lighting, color correction, world sculpting.

A senior artist should fit in well in a "core team", having wide and deep skills enough to be part of prototyping etc in pre-production. In production he/she would be a key person with more responsibility, possibly owning an area such as buildings or vegetation in addition to the level work. A senior artist helps define the quality standard for junior artists to follow.

Work task examples
Lighting ,World Sculpting Modelling and texturing of world objects, Object placing Visual Effects placing and adjustments
Implement 3D objects to Game Engine, Generating LOD's Generating screenshots, Shader and animation setup Destruction generation and setup
. Visual tweaks both on 3D meshes and 2D textures
. Technical tweaks on shaders, 3D mesh and 2D textures
. Deliver outsourcing briefs
. Deliver feedback to outsourcing partners
. Assist Level Art Director both visually and technically
. Coach and mentor Level Artists
. Bug fixing
. Be able to help AD with problem solving (a mixture of artistic/technical solutions in practice).
