Scania is undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete sustainable transport solutions. During the coming years we are launching our new powertrain platform as a part of that shift and we are now looking for a team member to join our journey.

Who we are

We are a diverse team consisting of 7 team members with a mix of age, gender and nationalities and with experience stretching between 1 and 20+ years within the company. We all have our own areas of responsibility but take pride in supporting each other when problems and deviations occur in order to find the best solutions for Scania. We strive for a climate where opinions and competence are openly shared within the team and learning is continuous. 

Responsibilities 

In your role as a Senior Sourcing Manager you will be responsible for Exhaust systems and flexible steel pipes. For these products you set and develop the supplier base including strategies that you align cross functionally and within the Traton group to optimize leverage to reach best cost and performance. As a senior sourcing manager you are also responsible for creating business plan activities and deliver on those to ensure we reach our team and department targets.

You lead and develop the 3-ring, which consists of colleagues from the project and quality teams. You work in close cooperation with your quality and project counterparts as new parts are to be introduced within your areas of responsibility through our product development projects and as we at all time strive for 100% quality from our suppliers.

As a senior sourcing manager you are also expected to support when it comes to developing the commercial competence within the department as well as guiding your colleagues and give support and guidance in negotiation, creating business plan activities and setting commercial strategies.

Your profile

You are a person with great commercial interest and a passion for doing business while staying close to the technology. You are analytical, structured, take own initiatives and are able to handle multiple things at the same time. You are good at maintaining relationships and like to represent purchasing in cross functions as well as towards suppliers in a professional way. You are also self-driven with high integrity and contribute to the development of the team. Within all these areas of competence you have previous extensive experience.

We expect you to have an academic degree in industrial engineering, business or similar. We also expect you to have experience from other sourcing manager roles within the automotive industry, or other relevant background within Scania or externally, with acknowledged excellent results.

As the role involves communication with global suppliers, you are fluent in English, and preferably also in Swedish.
