Technical Development Managers (TDMs) support division Special Steels customers and Sales with detailed technical knowledge of our products and their proper application. This position reports to the Technical Director for Central Eastern Europe and Nordics, and the working location is Austria.

What You´ll Do
- The Technical Development Manager helps SSAB customers improving their products by using the latest high strength steel grades.
- You will be responsible of engaging existing and potential customers in development projects with the purpose of helping them to put innovative and more competitive products in the market, which will offer unique advantages to the end users.
- You will have a key role on product innovation within SSAB.
Who You Are
We expect you to have a few years’ experience in a collaborative international environment and strong drive toward technical sales within the steel business. A genuine interest to learn more about steel making, properties and user benefits is required. You will be required to make decisions based on data and to have good analytical skills. An university degree in Technology (Industrial, Metallurgical or Mining Engineering) or equivalent is needed. Experience in structural design and modern engineering tools (CAD/CAE) will be appreciated.
You need to be fluent in German and English and feel comfortable in delivering presentations to both colleagues and customers.
The position requires intensive travelling inside Austria and Germany, with regular visits to SSAB production sites in the Nordics.
