Engineering Standard & Technical Support is part of the department Product Documentation, within Release Office at R&D. Engineering Standard & Technical Support is a Shared Service that contributes with technical support to increase speed and flow in the organization by providing expertise in Engineering Standard and method support for CAD, PLM and Product Data Analysis applications and increased quality of Teamcenter documentation.

As a Standards Engineer you will work in a team that is responsible for all Engineering Standards and Standard parts within Volvo Cars. We are responsible for developing, maintaining and ensure availability to Engineering Standards. We provide the organization with guidelines and technical documentation for standard fasteners and their applications in different joints. We educate and give advice in use and interpretation of Standards. We collaborate with many internal and external contacts and represent Volvo Cars in Standardization forums and network with Universities and Institutes. 

Do you fit the profile?
We see that you have a University degree in Engineering with automotive work experience. On a personal level, you have a positive attitude, are well organized and have an agile mind-set. We are looking for you with a courage to take initiatives and aren’t afraid to express your views. Further, you have excellent communication and presentation skills. Furthermore, we are looking for an excellent networker who enjoys networking in international, cross-functional and multi-cultural teams. To ensures your success, fluency in English is a must, as well as solid competence in at least a few of these areas: KDP, Teamcenter, CATIA V5, Geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing, Failure avoidance, Design Engineering Documentation, Marking and Branding of parts, Joining (welding, adhesives, torque assembly), Fasteners and Standard parts, Document mastering (Standards database, Supplier Portal, SharePoint, MS Office).
