Vice President and Business Area Legal Counsel

Arbetsbeskrivning

Within Sandvik Group, we’re passionate about development and advanced technology, and we always aim to offer the best possible experience for our customers. Right now, we’re taking an exciting step in transforming our market-leading business even further within the area of stone crushers and screening equipment for the mining and construction industries. We do this by founding an independent, growth-oriented and customer-centric Business Area by the name of Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions. A place of inclusive collaboration, agility and innovation - where we nurture an ever-growing portfolio of products and solutions based on the needs of the market, and where pioneering software technology meets the core of manufacturing.

For Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions, we’re now looking for a Vice President and Business Area Legal Counsel – a brave and dedicated people person with a strong ethical compass and a passion for business. We offer a unique opportunity to join us on this exciting transformation journey, where you truly get to impact our direction and drive legal innovation within the mining and construction industry. Are you eager to shape the future of manufacturing? Then we really want you on board!

Let’s talk about your mission
Joining us in this central position, you have a diverse and wide responsibility. You confidently provide legal advice, business recommendations and identify legal and compliance risks within all fields of business law - including intellectual property, corporate governance, dispute resolution, M&As, general contracts, competition law and distribution and agency. We’re also very interested in your experiences from the area of digital law, data privacy, anti-bribery and corruption. With a structured and proactive approach, you analyze facts and information, and you set future strategies and clear guidelines to make sure that we’re both up to date and compliant with applicable laws and regulations. We embrace change and happily invite you to challenge us. This includes keeping an eye on the market, implementing relevant policies and procedures, as well as managing legal training and agreements. You also collaborate across functions to bring insights, identify synergies and ensure proactive ways of working.

As we’re forming a new Business Area, you have an important role in building a cohesive, supportive and competent legal function – where team spirit, development and best practices are cornerstones, and where we merge stakeholder expectations with legal requirements. To help you succeed, you will start by adding a Legal and Compliance Specialist to your team. On top of this, you’re a valued member of our management team, and you report directly to the President of Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions.

This position is based in the Svedala/Malmö area, although Stockholm or other locations could be discussed, and some international travel is normally included in your job.

And what about you?
We’re looking for an ambitious and inclusive leader who truly understands a global business, and who’s well known to be a great influencer for both people and ways of working. A Master of Law is necessary, and your career includes at least ten years’ experience from a reputable law firm or an in-house legal function of a multinational company. You’re talented at giving qualitative support regarding both compliance matters and the full suite of legal topics within a business setting. Any previous experiences with the mining, construction or manufacturing industry is beneficial. With an organized and entrepreneurial mindset, you’re also eager to learn about our market and the legal landscape that we’re facing. We operate worldwide, and this calls for an open mind and cultural awareness – you’re used to working cross both functions and borders and you need excellent communication skills in English.

Along with your confident drive and the ability to make sound decisions and to the point presentations, you’re guided by integrity and intelligence, as well as a genuine desire to help us grow as a business. You build trust in your relations and leave a positive impact, and you challenge us to always look at new perspectives and become even better at what we do. Collaboration and stakeholder management are top priorities for you, and your swift approach and commitment to the mission creates engagement across the entire organization.
