Your challenge – and what you can expect
Mycronic, a Swedish high-tech company, is seeking to hire an experienced Customs Specialist based at the headquarters in Stockholm. This is an excellent opportunity to join a global organization with subsidiaries, agents and distributors in more than 50 countries. Candidates must have previous experience in dealing with freight agents and an extensive knowledge of both SE and EU Customs. Experience in US Customs is an advantage. This position will report to the Director of Logistics.

What you will do
Responsibilities
• Help manage/improve comprehensive controls and processes to ensure compliance with SE and international trade regulations
• Monitor changes in SE and EU Customs Community Directives and align business processes to comply with new requirements
• Provide assistance and guidance to company import administrators where necessary, including collaborating to classify products and parts to comply with import & export regulations
• Work with company import administrators to develop an audit program to ensure compliant processes behavior.
• Ensure information regarding global import compliance is communicated, understood and key initiatives are implemented by collaborating closely with regional import administrators
• Assist with investigations of any incidences of non-compliance with customs laws/regulations, assist with various customs compliance projects, and regularly provide reports on significant trade compliance activities and risks
• Produce and implement effective import training material and provide functional training to personnel
• Ensure company compliance with customs and applicable regulations worldwide by developing and implementing standardized policies, processes and best practices on customs compliance
• Identify potential areas of vulnerability and risk and work to fully investigate and resolve or mitigate this risk
• Provide performance reviews on all import administrators for direct supervisors and set compliance targets
• Conduct import audits and consult with Trade Compliance and Corporate Legal as needed to resolve any legal compliance issues.
• Assist with investigation and drafting of voluntary disclosures to any local Customs Authority
• Assist with acquisition due diligence as it relates to customs compliance
• In coordination with Trade Compliance, review and make recommendations relating to the issuance of certificates of origin relating to preferential duty programs
• Provide all facilities with official updates issued by Customs (tariff changes. etc.)
• Monitor and set KPI’s on the company’s chosen freight agents
• Audit chosen freight agents regularly
• Work with Finance to provide information and support on import VAT and Customs Bank Guarantees


Din profil
Requirements
• In-depth knowledge of EU/SE Customs regulations, valuation, classification and special trade programs, experienced in US Customs is an advantage
• Experience with freight agents
• Previous experience implementing import trade compliance programs across multiple entities
• Experience in Binding Tariff Information/evaluating MSS Data/Inward Processing Relief transactions is a bonus
• Able to influence, motivate and interact with persons at all levels across the company
• A drive to achieve results
• An ability work independently and collaboratively in order to set and achieve goals
• Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders such as SE Customs and other governing bodies will be key to this role
• Able to communicate effectively in Swedish and English, both in writing and orally
• Able to work in a challenging environment whilst handling and prioritizing multiple tasks
