The Technical Management unit at PDU WCDMA and Multi-Standard RAN (WMR) has an essential role securing Ericssons technology leadership, with the overall responsibility for HSPA and Multi-Standard evolution. This is mainly done through concept development as input to standardization and enhancement of our product. Our solutions are based on early performance estimates. Performance in the field is used as valuable feedback source to continuously improve our product and adjust our study focus.We aim at guaranteeing overall system performance while new functionality is introduced. Early customer and stakeholder feedback is a key element in our development process. We apply Agile and Lean methods and principles in our daily operations, and rely on team collective responsibility to complete studies according to an established backlog priority.

The MBB and Simulations section at WMR Technical Management is in search of a motivated and flexible system engineer who truly believes in team work, is eager to learn and is capable of applying rigorous theoretical concepts to real-world product development in a dynamic business environment.

Main responsibilities

-Developing radio resource management algorithms based on sound theoretical considerations and commercial feasibility to support Ericsson's WMR product strategy.
-Evaluating algorithm proposals by way of system simulations and product implementation investigations.
-Developing the functionality and quality of our Java-based radio network simulator to support performance evaluations.
-Interacting and influencing a wide range of organizations on matters related to WMR system performance, such as Ericsson Research, product line, other product development units and universities.

Qualifications:

-M.Sc., Ph.D. or equivalent
-Experience of telecommunication research or system design including simulations
-Thorough knowledge of cellular system architecture and behavior
-Good knowledge of control theory
-Programming skills in Java (or similar language) and Matlab
-Strong analytical skills
-Excellent communication and team working skills
-Self-motivated, flexible and well-organized
-Leadership interest and skills
-Excellent written and spoken English
