Arbetsbeskrivning

Who are we?
Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we’re expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we’re on the lookout for new talent.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.

What we offer
For autonomous drive the availability of radars and sensors are a necessity, but there are a lot of factors to consider when developing a system that´s always available. At Contamination one of our aims are to make sure that your autonomous car works the same, regardless of all weather conditions.
At Contamination you will be part of an agile team working with all vehicle programs and development phases.
What you’ll do
As a part of the Contamination team, you will take part in developing physical verification methods to evaluate system availability and car design. You will be verifying your results through physical testing in the wind tunnels, road expeditions and at proving grounds. Since one part of the team works with simulation methods and verification instead it is important that you also have this competence, but your main area of responsibility will be within physical verification.
After analysing your verification results, you will share your findings with other ART´s and departments, giving valuable information on system and design changes that you see would improve the customer experience.

You and your skills
You have a genuine car interest and experience from working with physical testing. To have performed tests in a wind tunnel is a valued experience and having drivers licence B is a requirement.
You have a University degree in Engineering or equivalent working experience and your English is fluent (written and spoken).
To be a member of a team is your preferred way of working and you don’t hesitate to ask your colleagues for help and assistants when needed. Experience of fluid mechanics and multiphase flows either using CFD simulations or experiments is meritorious as well as having used STARCCM+.
