28482 - System Developer - Field Trials

DU Radio strives to be the most competitive Radio Network R&D unit in the industry. We develop and maintain competitive, high-quality Radio products which give our customers solutions to secure future growth. We currently develop GSM, WCDMA as well as LTE Network solutions to operators all over the world.

PDU WCDMA & Multi Standard RAN (WMR) is based in Stockholm with operations in Gothenburg, Linköping and Nanjing. PDU WMR is responsible for the development, release and maintenance of WCDMA Networks which includes the RNC and RBS nodes.

We are in search of a motivated and flexible system developer to join our Field Trials team within Technical Management. The candidate must truly believe in team work, be eager to learn, have strong field performance technical skills while also having a interest in task automation and machine learning.

As part of the role you will evaluate feature performance in live networks and truly stress test our products by developing relevant performance measures & techniques. You will also contribute to the improvement and automation of work methods, processes & tools and the continuous improvement of our agile ways of working.

The Technical Management unit at PDU WMR has overall responsibility for HSPA and Multi-Standard evolution which is an essential role in securing Ericsson's technology leadership. This is achieved primarily through research and concept development as input to standardization and enhancement of our products.

Early development phases, such as standardization and feature concept work use field feedback for providing a more capable product in each release. During product development, prior to GA, XFTs and release projects require field measurements to confirm correct functionality and the real gain of developed features and system improvements. For functionality that is already available for operators, field data analysis provides value argumentation for improved sales and inputs to our guidelines which advise on best practices.

The Field Trials Team provides the organisation with these live network performance insights through working with field performance data at different stages of the product development cycle.


To be successful in this position you should:

- Have extensive knowledge and experience in dimensioning and/or designing radio systems and solid technical knowledge in dimensioning, deployment, planning and optimization methods.
- Have experience of working with customers and/or other Ericsson units (Regions / CU).
- Be able to work both independently and in a team.
- Interested in working theoretically as well as hands-on with your analytical and problem solving skills.
- Be self-motivated, with have a strong drive and initiative.
- Be aware of the value added and importance of performance for the success of Ericsson radio products.
- Be fluent in oral and written English and have excellent communication skills.
- Have an interest in machine learning and test automation
