PDU Evolved Infrastructure

Product development unit Evolved Infrastructure (PDU EI) is a PDU within design unit Core & IMS (DUCI), which is a part of Business unit Networks (BNET).

The PDU is a corner stone of Ericsson Core & IMS as well as GSM business based on our solutions, platforms and components. Securing a smooth evolution of our customer core network infrastructure from today?s installed base to CBA based architecture, taking the overall network solution aspect into consideration is key to our future business success.

Ericsson Component Based Architecture (CBA) enables: simplicity, flexibility and improved efficiency by re-use of components across application nodes.

Job description

In the Stockholm part of our Design Center we are responsible for a number of key Software components in the Application service layer of CBA. One of them is DX (Developer Experience). The purpose of DX is to centralize the development of sophisticated Software Tools and Education to drive and support the deployment of CBA.

We are now looking for experienced Software Developers that can help us to strengthen our organization for coming challenges with the DX component.

In these roles, you will work within cross functional teams of diverse backgrounds and experience, with tasks spanning our products full life cycle; from early phases, implementation and test to trouble-shooting and application support

We have responsibility for internal interfaces, high-level design of the products and are expected to also impact the high level architecture of CBA in cooperation with system architects and architecture foras
We work Agile, using Scrum / Kanban methodologies, where we continuously improve our tools and ways of working. We are always eager to take in new ideas that will increase our product and development performance

We are situated in Kista from June 2013.

Qualifications

You should have at least 3 years of proven experience of Software development within the qualification areas as specified below.

You have a Masters degree in Engineering and at least 3 years of experience of Software development
Experience of programming in Object Oriented languages such as Java, C/C++ or Python
User experience in GNU/Linux
Excellent cooperation & communication skills in order to spread knowledge and secure a sound product quality evolution
Excellent skills in spoken and written English

Experience in a subset of the following areas is also required:

Experience with presenting to large groups of people, holding demos for stakeholders and evangelizing
Writing technical documentation and producing training material
Advanced IP network knowledge
Development experience in user or kernel space in GNU/Linux
Experience of High Availability systems
Understanding/Experience of Telecom System principles (specifically OaM)
Experience of component-level and joint test development using virtualization
UML System Modeling, Model Driven Architecture and IBM Rational?s Modeling Tools
Build and compile tools (compilers, build systems, debuggers, profilers, tracers and continuous integration)
Eclipse plug-in development and EMF
SAForum and OpenSAF
Virtualization in a large system simulation context
