Job Description: Key Functions --------------------------------------------------------------------- The main tasks you are expected to perform include, but are not limited to: 1.The design, implementation, and testing of new features and applications for mobile phones, to our standards.2.The optimisation of existing code to ensure that the tight real-time constraints imposed by mobile phone system requirements continue to be met.3.The timely provision of reports on progress to your team leader.Depending on circumstance these may be verbal or written.4.Assisting with project planning, process documents and budgeting etc.5.Assisting and mentoring other team members with their work where appropriate.6.Assisting your team leader in identifying staff training and development needs.7.Keeping abreast of new developments and techniques in the software mobile applications field. Skills and Experience ------------------------------------------------------------------ 1.More than 8 years experience in software development of applications and GUIs, preferably for mobile phones 2.Proficiency in one or more of the C, C++, or Java programming languages.3.Experience in software debugging techniques, software debugging tools and application development environments.4.Understanding of embedded development environments and associated development restrictions.5.Experience of testing software on embedded targets and in the use of basic laboratory equipment is desirable.6.A good level of inter-personal and communication skills.7.The desire and ability to work within a team structure and to learn from other engineers within that team.
