Volvo Car Corporation designs, develops, manufactures and markets Volvo Cars all over the world. Its research and development mostly takes place in Gothenburg, Sweden. Volvo Cars Purchasing is ultimately responsible for the selection of all Volvo Cars- suppliers and has the responsibility for the procurement of all production material and services to Volvo Cars.
The supply of materials and services- to the right quality, in the right quantity and on time- is essential to the smooth running of the company and to match our customer's expectations.
Programme Purchasing, department 53841 has the responsibility for all commercial activities regarding past model spare parts within VCC.Our task is to secure the availability of parts to the After Market and to work actively with cost efficiency throughout the complete value chain. The team consists of 13 members and is located in Gothenburg PVH.

Since our present aftermarket buyer for electronics will go on maternity leave from October 1st 2006, we are now looking for a person to replace her.

Overall Job description:
Establish and maintain a competitive supplier base in a long-term perspective and deliver products (value chains) to the After Market in time and according to commercial targets.

Main tasks for all commodities:
Maintain and develop the supplier base
Build, develop and maintain competitive supplier strategies (commodity strategies)
Lead the supplier selection activities
Carry out market analysis and bench marking studies
Perform year to year commercial negotiations
Establish action plans for systematic supplier issues
Represent Purchasing in cross functional team work within VCC and with other Ford brands when applicable
Develop and establish agreements and issue all purchase orders
Establish action plans on part-specific supplier issues in running business
Give input on pre-requisites for development of future supplier
Assure availability of non-current parts for VCCS
Tooling management after run out of serial production

Technical and/or Commercial education from university or equal
