97540, Powertrain Controls and calibration is responsible for development of control algorithms, calibration strategies and datasets for engine and Powertrain control (CVC).

Job description:

The main task for the engine control system is to apply control parameters so as to achieve a responsive and refined torque quality while minimizing fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. Calibration is the tuning of those control parameters for the best compromise.

The calibration task today is performed using both conventional methods and model based methodologies. The need for simulation and modeling methodologies is increasing. Therefore we are looking for engineers interested in advanced methods.

There are three positions available. These are in the fields of:

LNT (Lean NOx Trap) calibration
DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter)
Turbo control

The work scope for 1 and 2 is to optimize engine settings in alternative operating modes. The objective is to achieve proper exhaust properties (temperature, gas composition et c) in order to make and keep the exhaust after treatment systems operating while maintaining the driving experience (torque, noise et c). The work scope for 3 is to optimize settings for theturbo controller so as to optimize the transient behavior in all operatingmodes.

Please indicate in your application which field/fields you are most
interested in.

As an application engineer your main responsibilities are:

Plan and perform tests in engine test cell, vehicle dyno and vehicle on road.
Analyze data
Modify datasets
Verify your results
Suggest control functionality changes
Develop calibration methodologies
Documentation of results, experience and methodologies

Your primary tools are:

INCA-PC application tool
Matlab/Simulink

Qualifications:

MSc engineering or several years of relevant experience
Good command of the English language
Good PC skills
Car driving license

Additional qualifications:

Knowledge of numeric/statistic modeling
Knowledge of optimization methodologies
In depth knowledge of internal combustion engines and thermodynamics
Experience of engine development
Experience of Matlab/simulink
Knowledge of analogue and digital measuring techniques

Personal qualities:
