We are currently looking for an Application Engineer to be part of Grid & Power Quality Solutions (GPQS) organization in Grid Integration to be responsible for supporting regional sales departments globally in building long term customer relationships, identifying, and developing sales opportunities.

Your responsibilities

You will be accountable for the technical solution in pre-tender and tender
Establish and maintain long-term relationships with customers (and key external stakeholders) to understand technical needs, promote customer understanding and awareness of full product/systems/services offerings, and align to provide a technical solution
Ensure efficient marketing activities and value proposition to the customer throughout the sales process
Create added value for the customer and HAPG by using innovation and experience from installed projects
Communicate details in accordance with HAPG offering and strategy
Build and support the GPQS team for development of competencies and employees
Support and participate in market communications: seminars, conference events, publications

Your background
As a person you have strong drive in combination with customer focus, ability to gather information and convey technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, business, and related industry
Master Science in Electrical Engineering (preferably in Power Systems)
Proven work experience in tender and/or project work within FACTS for transmission applications
Extensive experience in FACTS technology, from FACTS projects and/or R&D projects: converter systems, synchronous condenser, system design, design calculations, analyzes and simulations.
Experience from commissioning and testing on site is a plus
Knowledge of related engineering tools, software and models required to accomplish assigned tasks for design and simulations (PSSE, PSCAD/EMTDC, RTDS, among others)
You have a good ability to see the whole, both technically and commercially and how it fits into our customers' needs
You enjoy working in groups and communicate easily in English, both verbally and written
Application Engineering role will focus on the South American market so fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese language is a plus
You are available to travel up to 15 - 20 % of your time (when pandemic is under control)
