An Application Engineer (AE) use their product knowledge and industry experience to engage with prospective customers, understand their workflow, and demonstrate or explain how software tools from The MathWorks can solve their problems and, in turn, improve their engineering processes. This position is primarily a customer-facing role where you will use your expertise in control design automation. We are now looking to expand our Nordic AE team and are looking for an individual with knowledge and experience from: * Multidomain modeling of physical (electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic) systems * System modeling in Simulink with emphasis on control of physical systems Details on how The MathWorks meets the needs of its customers in this area can be found at the following link: http://www.mathworks.com/products/simscape/ Responsibilities * Providing pre-sales technical support and guidance to the Nordic sales team and our customers. * Preparing and delivering proof-of-concept presentations and demonstrations to existing and new customers. * Developing demonstration programs, application examples, and simulation models. * As the Application Engineers at The MathWorks are seen as the key persons to understand customer needs, giving directions to development and marketing is an important part of the day-to-day work. * Coaching of other AEs in your area of expertise Qualifications: * This person should possess an advanced Science-based degree (M.Sc.), preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering, and 5+ years of experience in multidomain modelling. * Experience in physical modelling and simulation is required; knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink products (or similar products on the market) for modelling, simulation, and control design is a essential. * The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to perform multidomain modelling of mechanical, electrical or hydraulic systems, as well as real-world control solutions. * The candidate should also be able to discuss how our products are used to solve engineering and business problems. * Experience in the Aerospace or Automotive industries is desirable. * The position requires proficiency in the delivery of presentations and excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Candidates should be interested in working directly with customers to help them understand how to apply our products to their problems. * Be able to travel a maximum of 25%, the majority of the travelling in the Nordic countries. * Fluency in English.
