Job Title: Asset Management Engineer

Location: Renfrew, Scotland

Quals/Experience required:
Must have a degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Physics, Maths or other relevant subject.

Must have the following:
-Excellent report writing and communication skills
-Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas
-Clear understanding of project management techniques
-Track record in delivering projects to time and budget
-Highly developed team working skills
-Able to self motivate and pro-actively deliver
-Prepared to share ideas throughout the thought process
-Use of engineering judgement to develop solutions
-Competent in the use of standard office PC tools (MS Office, databases and engineering programmes)
-Ability to influence the selection and buy-in around the optimum solution and deal effectively with competing views
-Ability to plan, communicate, motivate, negotiate and drive, combined with sufficient technical knowledge to understand the issues
-Solution focused

The following would be beneficial:
-Knowledge and experience of thermal power plant
-A thorough understanding of risk models/risk management is desirable
-Experience within the energy industry plant would be beneficial, however not essential and other industry backgrounds would be considered
-Random and ageing reliability models
-The effect on the environment on the application of risk
Interpreting weak data
-Experience of the mathematics of reliability/probability, with potential interface to value
-Relevant legislation and compliance
-Knowledge and experience of inspection
-Knowledge and experience of monitoring systems
-Knowledge and experience of maintenance and repair of thermal power plant

Overall Role Objective:
To undertake a key supporting role in developing and promoting asset management services in order for Doosan Babcock to enhance its after-market services portfolio.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, committed to technical excellence, have commercial awareness, strong inter personal skills, an ability to engage confidently and to work well within a team.
Will support the development of asset management services and contribute to the development of new business accordingly.
To network internally and externally to develop strong working relationships in order to meet business objectives and promote capabilities.
To promote and foster good liaison and rapport with the technology, engineering and business delivery functions in order to increase shared understanding/awareness and develop partnership of existing technical expertise to support development and business objectives.
