Associate at the Department of Research and Academic Education (Ref.no: ADR09) The Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law is an independent academic institution.The Institute is named after Raoul Wallenberg, the Swedish diplomat, in order to honour his work in the cause of humanity.The mission of the Institute is to promote universal respect for human rights and humanitarian law by means of research, academic education, dissemination and institutional development.The vision of the Institute is to be a centre of excellence meeting the highest international standards in all its fields of operation.Host to one of the largest human rights libraries in northern Europe and engaged in various research and publication activities, the Raoul Wallenberg Institute provides researchers and students with a conducive study environment.Summary: The Institute is seeking candidates to fill a temporary vacancy as Associate at the Department of Research and Academic Education. Job description: The Associate shall; Design proposals for courses, seminars and conferences; Administer and co-ordinate courses, seminars and conferences and to keep continuous contact with invited lecturers and other resource persons; Support and provide services to participants in courses, seminars and conferences, including travel administration; Assist in managing the budgets for courses, seminars and conferences, including reporting; Assist in projects as decided by the Head of Department; Assist in co-ordinating research applications, including monitoring deadlines and assistance with budget management; Participate in meetings as decided by the Head of Department; and Report to the Head of Department Qualifications: Interest in international human rights law; A minimum of two years of professional experience from Nordic research environment and university organisation; High degree of proficiency with MS Word including grammatical and formatting tools; Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills; Independent work ethic and ability to meet deadlines; Proven skills to work in teams and generate innovative, practical solutions to challenging situations; Fluency in English; and Cultural sensitivity and sound judgement.
