Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) invites applicants for a position as Associate Professor in Economics, with special emphasis on Infrastructure and Economic Development Department of Economics The department of Economics belongs to the Section for Economics, Statistics and Economic Geography, which currently is staffed with six professors, three associate professors, and four assistant professors and post docs.In 2006 the section hosts 16 PhD students in economics.The research in economics comprises three major fields: Industrial dynamics and structure, Regional economic milieu and change, and Economic interaction and trade.In addition, the department participates in collaborative research with the Royal Institute of Technology in two centres of excellence: (i) CESIS (Centre of Excellence for Science and Innovation Studies), and (ii) KITS (Centre of Excellence for Infrastructure and Efficient Transport Systems).Qualifications The applicant should hold a PhD in economics and have documented teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate levels.Research qualifications comprise publications in international journals and books with peer review that satisfy criteria for a position as associate professor in economics.Administrative experience and leadership skills are an additional merit.Command of the English language is a requirement.Job description The holder of the position is expected to contribute in research and teaching in equal proportions and to engage in pertinent administration duties.The position will be attached to the KITS Centre, which is financed by VINNOVA for a 10 year period, starting in July 2006.KITS is designed to carry out policy-relevant research with three major programmes: Transport and infrastructure policy and implementation, with sustainable mobility as a focus area. Transport system and behaviour ,with activity-based models, transport service and demand/supply and integrated land use, and transport and environmental models as focus areas.Infrastructure economics, with accessibility and spatial computable equilibrium models as focus areas.Application The application should include a CV with a list of publications and a brief description of the applicants research ambitions with reference to the KITS research programmes.Moreover, the application should be accompanied by three copies of the applicant's most important scientific contributions (not more than 10), and documentation of teaching credentials.
