Associate Scientist

For our international client, we are looking for a candidate that has experience working in the cell biology and biochemistry field. The client is leading with in groundbreaking therapies to reverse deep mechanistic understanding of mitochondrial biology.
This is a consultant assignement for 6 months.

About the position
The employee will be working in the cell biology and biochemistry groups of the company in Gothenburg. The main task will be to design and execute cellular and biochemical assays and experiments for quantitative analysis of the potency of compounds to support the drug discovery and development efforts around the mitochondrial targets pursued by the company.

Example activities are cell culture work including measuring cell viability as well as RNA and DNA levels and running biochemical enzymatic assays at high and low throughput. The work will also entail performing mode of action studies. Routine activities could also include organizing lab space and ordering lab supplies.

The employee is expected to prepare high quality documents for internal and external presentations as well as protocol reports, data tables and the like. Documentation will require the use of research databases and electronic notebooks, for example the Dotmatics platform, in addition to basic use of standard software packages such as MS Office and specific research software.


Your profile
• The position requires a MSc in biology, chemistry or a related subject as well as previous experience working in cell culture.
• Experience working in molecular biology and/or biochemistry is a bonus for this role.
• Working collaboratively with group members is a must to ensure a productive work culture.
• Lab safety standards are required to be adhered to.
