Attribute Development Engineer - Climate Comfort

The section Climate Comfort, is responsible to lead the attribute Climate as a part of the Environment and Fluid Dynamics Centre. We are responsible for setting technical requirements and for developing methods that ensure a pleasant and energy efficient climate comfort in the cabin for all Volvo Cars. The section is divided in two main deliverables, CFD analysis and attribute development. Within CFD, we support engineering and design using CFD as a tool for fluid and aero-acoustics analysis, while continuously developing additional methods for future needs.

As Attribute Development Engineer you will be working to develop requirements to fulfil future demands, and working closely to new car programs to ensure requirement fulfilment. In new car programs you will communicate and lead the fulfillment of requirements to achieve the best possible climate comfort, doing so in all program phases (concept to industrialisation). An important part of our work is to continuously improve our knowledge, working processes and methods. With this in mind, cooperation with universities and participation in global research programs will be an essential part of your long term development.

Main responsibilities

* Plan and carry out verification of requirements in new car programs, and act upon eventual deviations.
* Plan, lead and develop new requirements and methods for future cars
* Establish contacts within design engineering and be the "how-to guide"
* Strengthen the need of virtual method development
* Develop working processes & methods within the Climate comfort area
* Develop synergies within and outside the department

Required qualifications

* MSc or BSc in Mechanical or Energy Engineering or equivalent
* 3 years' experience of automotive industry or equivalent
* Driver's license B
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Ability to understand attributes on a complete vehicle basis, and how they are linked together
* Experience from CFD including at least one of the following attributes; climate comfort, aerodynamics, thermodynamics or contamination is meritorious
* Project or Program Engineering and execution within the automotive industry is meritorious
* Experience from developing virtual test methods is meritorious
