Who are the Darrow's.We are a family of 4 (3, if you don't count big lovable dogs as people) that loves to have fun, but unfortunately currently have to work -more than play.Marie and Joseph are both physicians and work for the Navy at the Naval Hospital in San Diego.Marie is in her last year of training for Ear, Nose, and Throat surgery (ENT), which means that until next July, she spends lots of time in the operating room and works long hours (from 6 AM to 6 PM, more-or-less).Joseph is a specialist in Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Joseph's hours are much more regular (8AM to 5PM on most days). Luke is just about to turn 1 year.We are lucky enough to have Marie's mom caring for Lisa, as she has been doing for the past 11 months.The schedule would most often be Monday through Friday, from 8-5 with all weekends off.There might be days that will be longer than normal, but we could easily make up for it by taking a day off work here and there.Flexibility, however, will be important for us, as we never know what will be happening at the hospital that will hold us up at work.While he is old enough for day care, we are not thrilled at the thought of putting him in that environment he (and we) has been spoiled by 1-on-1 care.In addition, we are thinking of having a second baby in about a year.We try to gets out to playgroups and to meet friends, and expect this to be a part of his week with an Au Pair.He will probably go into pre-school in a couple years, and who knows from there?We understand that the Au Pair experience is just as much for the Au Pair as the baby, and she would be welcome to join us on weekends, meals and other excursions, if she wanted.Tillträde: Våren -07 Ålder: 18 - 26 år.
